That’s the number of kilograms of C02 that has been saved from being released into the atmosphere by EcoChill customers that have chosen to replace ozone depleting and high global warming refrigerants with natural refrigerant solutions.

For those that were early adopters of sustainable refrigeration systems, from large organisations such as T&G and Foodstuffs brands New World, Fresh Collective and Pak’n’Save, through to smaller businesses such as Hoffman’s Nursery, costs were initially more than synthetic refrigerants on offer. However they soon found return on investment was much higher than expected with energy savings and product quality gains, particularly for those in fresh and frozen food.

With refrigerant cost and supply risks continually increasing due to global change initiatives such as the Montreal Protocol and the Kigali Amendment these companies are now well placed for managing risk, reducing operating costs and improving performance.

Even better, increased business performance comes with better environmental outcomes as low emission heating and cooling strategies are clearly identified as critical for addressing climate change.
